阿瑟•克拉克（Arthur C. Clarke, 1917—2008）
英国科幻作家，被誉为科幻小说之王，与阿西莫夫、海因莱因一起并称为“20世纪科幻三巨头”。他一生创作100多部作品，被翻译成40多种语言，作品总销量超过1亿册，并多次获得雨果奖、星云奖、轨迹奖等科幻至 高奖项。1986年，获得美国科幻与奇幻作家协会终生成就奖——大师奖。
克拉克曾在英国皇家空军服役，担任雷达技师，退役后获得了数学和物理学的学士学位。同时，他也被称为伟大的太空预言家，他针对太空技术作出的许多预测都成为现实，他曾经预言过人体冷冻、大脑记忆备份、全球通讯卫星、地震预防预测等尖端技术，地球静止轨道正是因为他而被命名为“克拉克轨道”。
